It is a known fact that everyone needs a disaster survival kit. While there are many benefits associated with creating your own survival kits, it is much more beneficial to purchase a premade kit. Each year, at least a few hundred thousand individuals worldwide are directly affecting by some type of disaster such as those that are a result of terrorist acts, natural hazards, as well as technological hazards. All too often, individuals impacted by these disasters can be seen on local and national newscasts explaining how they have been affected and are wondering what their next steps are, with a sense of hopelessness in their eyes. While it is true that many organizations assist those impacted by disasters, it is important to understand that it could take several days before these organizations are able to assist those affected. This is why it is so important to ensure that you purchase a premade disaster survival kit.

Survival kits include various types of food, a supply of water, as well as additional supplies that will permit you to survive without the assistance of others for up to three days. The items contained in a disaster survival kit are those which may prove to be necessary during and/or after an emergency type situation develops. It is important to note that after many different types of disasters - especially natural ones - many of the basic luxuries and services that are enjoyed by many may not be available. Examples of these include electricity, telephone services, gas services, sewage services, as well as water. When purchasing premade survival kits, you will typically find that they contain all of the items that you may need during periods when you do not have these services are your disposal for a relatively low price. However, if you custom make a disaster survival kit, you will find that you will spend a lot of money and may not get all that you will require.

In order to optimize your protection during the course of an emergency, it is important to purchase a premade disaster survival kit for all of the locations that you frequent. Examples of these locations may include your home, your vehicle, your workplace, your church, and even the gym. It is important to remember that disasters know no time or place. While you may believe that purchasing survival kits for all of the areas that you frequent will prove to be highly expensive, that is just not true. When you purchase premade kits, you will discover that there are many different types of kits and each of these types are deemed appropriate for all types of budgets. It is always better to ensure your health and safety without putting a price tag on it.

While it is true that you have the capability of creating your own survival kit, it is not the best of ideas. If you truly want to ensure that you have all that you need in the event of a disaster and that it costs you as little as possible, it is imperative to purchase a premade disaster survival kit. These kits are typically broke down into the amount of people that may live off of it, the items that are contained in the kit, as well as the amount of days that it is suitable for. It is important to ensure that you research each disaster survival kit that you are interested in so that you may choose the one that is most appropriate for what you will need when disaster strikes.

   Would Canadians watch this American movie?
   The movie will be called “It’s not that cold here, really.” and it will be an American comedy produced by ME!

   The movie will be about a dumb American gangster from New Jersey who decides to leave his gang town and visit a more peaceful place called….Canada.

   He decides to travel to Toronto in mid-July and his family talks him out of it telling him “it’s VERY COLD in Canada, it’s a freezing cold country!” So he rebelliously drives to New York/Ontario border with 16 North Face jackets, a survival kit, a battery generator to heat the car, a 4-week supply of emergency food, a portable stove, 16 containers of mosquito repellent, a hunting knife. And a guide to survivng Polar attacks in the arctic wilderness. And emergency bottles of water, emergency toilet paper, for his summer trip to Toronto, Ontario. He’s an idiot.

   He gets to the Canada border and they ask him where he’s going!!!! He says “Toronto for the July weekend.”

   Customs official: What have you brought here???? 16 jackets, emergency supplies, bear repellant????

   Guy: Because my friend said it’s FREEZING COLD in Canada.

   Customs official gets skeptical because he thinks perhaps this guy is planning to stay the winter, either that or hide out. And overstay his welcome and not plan on leaving the country. They keep him at the border for a few days.

   The guy starts USING his survival kit food and water to feed himself while sitting in the immigration customs office. Just to give him what he asked for, they purposely put the AC on 10 degrees celsius so he can freeze inside the immigration and customs building.

   He ends up being held over in the border office until the weekend is over, so they tell him to make a U-turn and USA customs will take it from there.

   They say “I hope you enjoyed your stay. Next time, do some research before you plan a trip to Toronto.”

   It would be pretty funny.
   Or you can make it where they do let him into Toronto and then it just so happens the city experiences a black-out like a few summers ago, and the guy thinks it’s ALWAYS like that
   You know? I’ve been in MANY Canadian cities. Intentionally, the last place I want to visit in Canada, after I see all the other provinces including the maritimes, is TORONTO.
   Isn’t this fascinating? See everything except Toronto, and then Finally…..Toronto.
   Edit Dangerma: Definitely would put you in the credits. The thing though is going straight north by road, you can’t go much farther than Kapuskasing. Or the road to James Bay. The only opportunity to drive FAR north is to go west of Edmonton. Unless of course you fly

   I have had quite a bit of experience with survival situations and now am marketing custom survival kits starting at 400.00$ and customizing the price goes up depending on what you want and how much you are willing to spend..Ill drop ship generators to you and everything.    okay i am hoping this gets cleared up. Hurricane Katrina type survival kit. enought to carry your family through for about 5 days. Its there when all hell breaks loose. We had a big earthquake here in hawaii and believe me poeple were caught with there pants down no water no electricity no food!
   was hoping to get some response. anyone in here go through hurrican katrina. Hit me up if you feel this would have helped a lot of poeple

   Doesn’t seem like there would be a very big market for that stuff – is there? Are you meaning the things that a group of scientists exploring the arctic or a desert need?

   Maybe advertise on some extreme vacation type websites… I dunno.

   Good luck though. I would think that when someone does actually need that stuff, they’ll be glad they got something good.

   Can you import a survival kit from overseas?
   I am curious as to how well it would go down with customs, if I can import an American-made survival kit into Australia.
   The Survival Kit includes: Compass, Mini Rescue Flash Signal Mirror, Slim Rescue Howler Whistle, Waterproof and Windproof Survival Matches, Waterproof Tinder Quik, Heatsheets Survival Blanket, Survival Fishing Kit and Duct Tape. Would customs have any problem with ANY of these items?
   UGH! TINDER QUIK IS QUICK TINDER, USED FOR STARTING AN EMERGENCY FIRE OR CAMP FIRE.

   What’s a good general knife?
   I read this from a survival website:

   “A good knife is a survival kit unto itself. From chopping timbers for a shelter, to carving up the makings of a bow drill for fire to whittling the catch for a snare, a good knife in the hands of a knowledgeable individual is THE key item in a kit. The rest is just dressing. I recommend something that can CHOP. Whereas you’ll need to drop small trees and branches for all types of purposes, this is critical. Rambo’s knife might have LOOKED mean, but in a survival situation? In a true survival situation, I’ll take my $20 reworked Ghurka Kukri or $15 US Mil Spec Machete over his $500 Jimmy Lile custom any day of the week. I own a LOT of knives… some of them quite expensive, but for true chopping power, I’ve made my choice.”

   So pretty much I want a good, cheap knife that can do pretty much anything.

   Cold Steel Trail Master is just about perfect for wilderness survival use. The Ontario RTAK II is also fantastic and a little less money. Weight is a major issue in hiking and survival, so you may opt to sacrifice some cutting power to gain mobility. The Cold Steel Recon Scout, USMC Ka-Bar, and Rat Cutlery/Esee knives are all fantastic choices for this purpose. You may consider a second, smaller neck or pocket knife for smaller chores or backup.

   do they actually keep people there for a whole weekend??! if he doesn’t even make it into Canada, that would be kindof anti climactic wouldn’t it.
   the idea is funny, I’ve seen people in August with skiis strapped to their roof looking for mountains.

   If he were to make it in though, which they probably would let him in, they’d be laughing that’s for sure. But it would be funny if he just kept his mindset that toronto is some sort of wilderness after seeing it and just took everything the wrong way. Like a beavertail stand or something. Blackout’s like the one several years ago are extreemly uncommon.

   I’m just wondering, are you canadian and have you been to toronto?

   What is in it?

   Is tinder quick like a plant substance? Nothing else in there sounds dodgy (no weapons or fresh food). Should be OK?

   UGH Back at you, of course it is used to start a fire, thanks for that anyway though Captain Obvious. WHAT IS TINDER QUIK MADE OF? If it is plant material then it will probably not get through. Next time just ring customs and ask since us mere mortals are so bothersome to your greatness.

    i’m not sure if you are new to skateboarding but if you are new here is some advice

    you won’t need the following:

    - element survival kit (a waste of money)
    - zero curb wax(you can get something called paraffin wax at a supermarket which is a big block of wax for 1-2 dollars instead of bucking out 5-10 dollars for a small piece of wax that has a brand name on it)
    - bones bearing cleaning kit, (you don’t need a dumb kit to take care of your skateboard, the only thing you probably need is the bones skate lube)

    I’d suggest getting bearings where the bearing shields can be removed (makes life easier when cleaning ur bearings)

    if this is ur first board i’d probably get a blank deck, when you get better at skating you should go for whatever ur preference is

    hardware does not matter really, you can just get the cheapest ones, and as you asked “will it fit”, it will fit all skateboards

    for ur trucks, you asked ( Is that the right size for my deck? )
    personally if ur not too sure i’d go to a skateshop and make sure the trucks aren’t sticking out too much when you put ur board together (you can obviously tell by looking at your board from a birdseye view)

    if you are new… good luck, (i’m not trying to judge you but, it’s all about preference and not all the fancy brands)
